A Dialogue with Trump Voters: Rationale and Remorse
Nothing in this subject matters more.
Respecting Differences
Among my friends and relatives, I have known those who are staunch Trump supporters. Some of them have seen enough on Quora or other social media to understand my stance. We don’t discuss politics. If one of them does, I would simply say, “We will have to agree to disagree. Respect my choice and I will respect yours, and let’s not discuss it further.”
Understanding Deep Connection
All but 0.1% of the people I know understand that even if they disagree with my politics or anything else, they know better than to challenge my convictions. When my Australian friends toured the USA as a support act for Third Day, they shared stories of the most welcoming, generous, and honest people they met in the 'red states'. This made me feel indebted to those communities, which instilled in me a deep respect for America and its people.
Reflections on Trump's Ascend
Since 2013, I have been at loggerheads with some of my beliefs, particularly regarding Trump. The anger and frustration that critics like Quora have expressed resonated with many Americans, thus often fostering a sense of unity. However, my sorrow grew when Trump became a figurehead, representing all their grievances. His rise was like an abscess being lanced, releasing pent-up emotions.
Understanding Mistaken Hope
I believe that many people placed their trust in Donald Trump in a way that is gravely mistaken. These individuals may have hoped that he would enact reforms that were desperately needed in the USA. However, the fervor to resist moral degeneration inadvertently accelerated it. The moral law of unintended consequences is at play here.
The Amorality of Trump
Trump is amoral, and his actions reflect this. If you will hear me out on one thing, it is this: he is telling everyone that the path to 'Make America Great Again' is to produce a landslide victory in voting and declare that the result is 'too big to rig'. This is not mere hyperbole.
Separating Reality from Fiction
Logically, if something is rigged, the results are pre-determined, regardless of the number of votes cast. In 2020, Trump claimed he won by a landslide and every state, yet he continued this cyclic pattern in 2024. He knows the federal election is not rigged and was never rigged. He knows; he is lying. His belief in the ‘landslide’ win is his native tongue, and he keeps asserting it.
Gaining Power Through Deception
The old story of the snake that lures people with the question "did God say you should not eat of any tree in the garden?" reflects Trump's approach. Instead of making claims, the snake poses a question. Trump is doing the same, asking people to believe him without evidence. There is no way that any majority, no matter how big, can change the result of a rigged election. It did not work in 2020 and it will not work now. These statements from Trump are not interpolation; he knows what he is doing. This is not a new tactic; it has been seen before.
Call to Caution
So, for the love of God, consider carefully what you are being told. There is no doubt that any majority will not change the result of a rigged election. It didn’t before, and it won’t now. Do not be deceived.
