Both are perfectly safe, but Hackney stands out as my preferred choice for several reasons.

Hackney, for a proper inner-city borough, is a really great place. It’s brimming with diverse cuisines, including Turkish, Indian, and New British. You’ll find various supermarkets, clubs, bars, cafes, local shops, and plenty of parks and green spaces. The local transportation system is also excellent, making it convenient to get around.
Having lived in Hackney with my wife and family for more than 20 years, I can confirm that it’s a safe and thriving area.
