Review of Galgotias University for Engineering: Infrastructure, Placement, and More
Galgotias University, also known as Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), is one of the top engineering institutions in the NCR region. This review delves into various aspects of GCET, including infrastructure, teaching staff, student environment, placements, and overall experience.
Infrastructure
The infrastructure at GCET is outstanding and one of the best among colleges in NCR. The campus buzzes with state-of-the-art facilities, making it an excellent choice for students pursuing engineering. The classrooms, labs, and common areas are equipped with the latest technology to facilitate learning.
Faculties and Teaching
Regarding the faculty, there are both good and below-average teachers. Out of six faculty members in each semester, typically only one or two are sufficiently proficient in their fields. For other subjects, students need to rely on self-study. Despite this, the quality of teaching at Galgotias is rated better compared to other colleges in Greater Noida.
Student Environment
The student environment at GCET is described positively. The majority of students come from the State University Counseling (UPSEEE), which means the overall student environment is quite good. However, institutions like AKG and JSS have a better student environment. This ensures a healthy and supportive atmosphere for academic pursuits.
Management
The administrative management is on an average level but is somewhat criticized for being money-sucking. While the administration works hard to provide necessary educational resources, there is room for improvement in terms of cost management.
Placements
Galgotias University, especially GCET, boasts one of the best placement cells in NCR. Employment records for Computer Science and Information Technology (CS/IT) branch are impressive, with placement rates ranging from 75-85%. Non-CS/IT branches have slightly lower rates but still fare well. Globally recognized companies such as Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, HP, and Samsung participate in campus placements.
Final Thoughts
While GCET stands out in terms of engineering education and placement records, it is important to note that the university lacks a stringent student selection criteria. Therefore, it is advisable for students to carefully evaluate their options and consider other factors such as social fit, academic strength, and personal aspirations.
For those who still opt for GCET, the expenses are manageable, and the placements are indeed excellent, especially for Computer Science and IT students.
